CHRISTUS Health Selects Trace to Improve Quality of Patient Registration Encounters

Health system will record and score face-to-face encounters with patients for quality improvement

“Trace will help us create consistency and predictable communication performance among our teams.” — MATTHEW STOJAKOVICH, SYSTEM DIRECTOR OF PATIENT ACCESS SERVICES AT CHRISTUS

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (June 19, 2018) – Vyne Medical, a leading provider of healthcare communication and data management technology for over 440 hospitals and health systems, today announced an agreement with CHRISTUS Health for implementation of its Trace voice recording and quality assurance platform.

CHRISTUS Health will implement Trace to record face-to-face encounters at the point of registration across the system’s 18 hospitals. The Trace Quality Assurance module will be implemented among management for quality assessment of recorded encounters.

“It is critical that our patients receive clear and accurate communication from the very first encounter,” said Matthew Stojakovich, System Director of Patient Access Services at CHRISTUS. “Trace will help us create consistency and predictable communication performance among our teams.”

Recording face-to-face encounters will allow the health system to determine exactly what information the patient receives at each touch point and identify any discrepancies or points of confusion. Recordings can be referenced to support strategic initiatives including quality assurance, compliance, patient experience and financial performance.

For example, CHRISTUS plans to use recordings to confirm that associates consistently request patient email addresses during registration and accurately explain the benefits of connecting with the health system to receive important information and updates.

To assess the quality of interactions, managers will use the Trace quality assurance module to select recordings and produce online scorecards to track performance by associate, team and performance measure. By providing focused, individualized training for staff, the system will work to standardize patient financial communication best practices among revenue cycle teams.
